Why an assessment matters.
Two rooms with the same floor area can need different systems. Glazing, orientation, insulation, ceiling height, occupancy and electrical equipment all affect the heat load. The available outdoor position, condensate route and length of refrigerant pipework also influence the installation scope.

Heating, cooling and the £2,500 grant.
Eligible residential air-to-air heat pump installations in England and Wales can receive £2,500 through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. This does not mean every wall-mounted air-conditioning project qualifies. Eligibility depends on the property, the heating being replaced, the equipment, the design and an MCS-certified installer meeting the scheme requirements.

How much does home air conditioning cost in Devon?
Nomad Climate single-room wall-mounted installations start from £2,499. The final quotation depends on the room heat load, system capacity, pipe route, access, electrics and indoor and outdoor unit positions.
Can home air conditioning heat as well as cool?
Yes. The wall-mounted inverter systems we offer provide cooling in warm weather and efficient air-to-air heating during cooler months.
Which rooms are suitable?
Bedrooms, living rooms, home offices, conservatories and garden rooms are common applications. The correct solution depends on how the room gains and loses heat rather than floor area alone.
Will I need planning permission?
Many straightforward domestic projects may not need a planning application, but property and location restrictions vary. Flats, leasehold homes, listed buildings, conservation areas and prominent or noise-sensitive positions need particular care. The property owner must obtain any permission required.
Could an air-to-air heat pump grant apply?
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme can contribute £2,500 to eligible residential air-to-air heat pump projects in England and Wales. A normal cooling installation does not automatically qualify; the property, system and MCS-certified installer must meet the scheme rules.
